Ash Bond is a British author and academic whose debut middle-grade novel blends myth, magic and modern adventure. She studied Classics at the University of Oxford, followed by a Master’s in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Bristol, exploring mythology and landscape.
Her first novel, Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm, was published in April 2024 by Piccadilly Press. The story follows twelve-year-old Peregrine, who must navigate a broken portal between Earth and Olympus using mythology-inspired technology and guardian librarians.
Before writing fiction, Bond worked in various fields including teaching English literature in Malaysia and serving as an outdoor guide in China. She also trained as a yoga teacher and draws creative inspiration from activities such as river swimming, mountain climbing and cartwheels.
She is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Bristol, working within Classics and Creative Writing. Bond’s debut has been praised by librarians and teachers, and she took part in a dedicated Reading Agency event in April 2024 to introduce her work to educators and librarians.
