Tony Wright is a British academic author whose work focuses chiefly on language education and applied linguistics. He holds the title Emeritus Professor of Language Education at the University of St Mark & St John in Plymouth, UK.
Wright has authored several books for researchers, teachers, and postgraduate students. His works include Language Teaching Roles: Teach & Learn (1987), Classroom Management in Language Education (2005), Trainer Development (with Rod Bolitho), and Investigating English.
He has served in his emeritus capacity following his active teaching and research career at St Mark & St John, contributing to studies of teacher education and second language teaching.
One of his most recent works is Classroom Management in Language Education, published in 2005 by Palgrave Macmillan.
