Non Pratt is a writer of young adult fiction who began her publishing career as a non-fiction editor at Usborne before moving into fiction. After graduating from Trinity College Cambridge, she ran the list at Catnip Publishing from 2009. She later became a senior commissioning editor while continuing to write novels for teenagers.
Her debut novel, Trouble, was published by Walker Books on 6 March 2014. It is a contemporary young adult novel about Hannah, a fifteen-year-old who is pregnant, and Aaron, a new boy at school who offers to pretend to be the baby’s father. Trouble was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize and the Branford Boase Award, and it was longlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
Remix followed Trouble as a Walker Books novel about friendship, music and a festival weekend. The story centres on Kaz and Ruby, two best friends facing three days at a music festival after Kaz has been dumped.
Truth or Dare was published by Walker Books on 1 June 2017 for readers aged 14 and above. The novel follows Claire Casey and Sef Malik, whose story involves risk, bravery, attention, disability and family responsibility. Truth or Dare was longlisted for the Southern Schools Book Award in 2018.
