Natalie C. Anderson is an author of fiction for young readers. She is known for her debut novel, City of Saints & Thieves, which was published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers in 2017. The novel is a contemporary thriller set in Kenya and follows the story of a young girl seeking justice for her mother’s murder.
Anderson has a background in international development and has worked with organisations focused on refugee relief and development in Africa. Her professional experience has informed the settings and themes of her writing, particularly her interest in East Africa and issues affecting young people in the region.
Her second novel, Let’s Go Swimming on Doomsday, was published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers in 2019. This book explores the experiences of a Somali refugee boy who is forced to become a child soldier and later works as an undercover informant.
Anderson’s work has been recognised for its exploration of complex social issues and its focus on young protagonists navigating challenging circumstances. City of Saints & Thieves was published in 2017.
