Miranda Paul is an American author of children’s books, known for her work in both fiction and nonfiction. She has written numerous picture books that often focus on themes such as science, the environment, and social issues. Paul’s debut picture book, One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of the Gambia, was published by Millbrook Press in 2015. This book tells the true story of Isatou Ceesay and her efforts to address plastic waste in Gambia.
Paul has also written Water Is Water, illustrated by Jason Chin and published by Roaring Brook Press in 2015. This book explores the water cycle through poetic text and has been recognised for its educational value. Other titles by Paul include Whose Hands Are These?, Are We Pears Yet?, and Speak Up.
In addition to her writing, Miranda Paul is a founding member of We Need Diverse Books, an organisation that advocates for diversity in children’s literature. Her books have been published by imprints such as Millbrook Press, Roaring Brook Press, and Clarion Books.
