Margaret Rooke is a British author and writer known for her work focusing on young people’s experiences and challenges. She has written both fiction and non-fiction, with a particular emphasis on giving a platform to young voices and exploring issues such as dyslexia and the impact of social media.
Rooke’s non-fiction includes Dyslexia is My Superpower (Most of the Time), published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers in 2017. This book features interviews with young people who have dyslexia, sharing their stories and perspectives. She has also written You Can Change the World: Everyday Teen Heroes Making a Difference Everywhere, published by Walker Books in 2019, which profiles teenagers from around the world who have made a positive impact in their communities.
Her work often involves collecting and presenting first-hand accounts from young people, aiming to inspire and inform readers. Rooke’s books are used in educational settings and have been recognised for their accessible approach to complex topics.
