Marcus Rashford is an English footballer and author known for his work both on and off the pitch. In addition to his professional football career, Rashford has written books for children and young people, focusing on themes such as resilience, self-belief, and social change.
Rashford’s debut book, You Are a Champion: How to Be the Best You Can Be, was published by Macmillan Children’s Books in 2021. Co-written with Carl Anka, the book offers advice and encouragement to young readers, drawing on Rashford’s own experiences growing up in Manchester and his journey in football. The book aims to inspire children to develop confidence and overcome challenges.
Following the success of his first book, Rashford launched the Marcus Rashford Book Club in partnership with Macmillan Children’s Books. The initiative seeks to promote reading and improve access to books for children across the UK, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
Rashford has also authored You Can Do It: How to Find Your Team and Make a Difference, published by Macmillan Children’s Books in 2022. This book continues his mission to empower young people, focusing on teamwork, community, and making a positive impact.
In 2022, You Are a Champion won the Children’s Non-fiction Book of the Year at the British Book Awards.
