Jonnie Hughes is a British writer, science communicator, and documentary filmmaker. He has a background in ecology and has worked extensively in science communication, including writing and producing for television. Hughes is known for his ability to explore complex scientific ideas in accessible ways for a broad audience.

He is the author of On the Origin of Tepees: The Evolution of Ideas (and Ourselves), published in 2011 by Simon & Schuster. In this book, Hughes investigates the evolution of human ideas and culture, drawing parallels with biological evolution. The work combines travel writing with scientific exploration, reflecting his interest in the intersection of culture, nature, and science.
