Rosie Goodwin is a British author of historical sagas. Before becoming a full-time novelist, she completed teacher training and worked in social services, including as a placement support worker and foster carer. Many of her novels are set in and around Nuneaton in Warwickshire.
Goodwin has published more than 40 novels and has sold more than four million copies. Her books include The Bad Apple, Moonlight and Ashes, The Ribbon Weaver, The Mill Girl and The Lost Girl. She has also been listed among the most borrowed authors from UK libraries.
She became the first author permitted to continue three of Catherine Cookson’s trilogies, writing Tilly Trotter’s Legacy, The Mallen Secret and The Sand Dancer. Her later work includes the seven-book Days of the Week collection, beginning with Mothering Sunday and concluding with Time to Say Goodbye. A Precious Gift was shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Romantic Saga Award in 2020.
Goodwin’s Flower Girls collection comprises Our Fair Lily, Our Dear Daisy and Our Sweet Violet. She followed it with the Rags to Riches trilogy, which begins with The Rag Princess and continues with One Woman’s War. Zaffre, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, publishes her recent novels.
The third Rags to Riches novel, The Winter Bride, is scheduled for publication by Zaffre on 24 September 2026.
