Louisa Reid is a British author known for her young adult novels. Her debut novel, Black Heart Blue, was published by Penguin in 2012. The book was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and the Leeds Book Award, and it was longlisted for the Carnegie Medal. Reid’s second novel, Gloves Off, was published by Guppy Books in 2019. Gloves Off was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal and the UKLA Book Award. In 2020, she published Wrecked, also with Guppy Books. Reid’s novels often employ verse and explore challenging themes. She has worked as an English teacher. Her most recent novel, Activist, was published by Guppy Books in 2023.
