Liz Pichon biography

Liz Pichon is a British author and illustrator, best known for her Tom Gates series. She studied graphic design at the Camberwell School of Art in London. Before becoming a full-time author, Pichon worked as an art director for the music label Jive Records and as a freelance illustrator.

The Tom Gates series, which began with The Brilliant World of Tom Gates in 2011, has been highly successful, winning several awards. The series is known for its engaging combination of text and illustrations, appealing to children and young readers. The first book in the series won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, the Red House Children’s Book Award, and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.

In addition to the Tom Gates series, Pichon has written and illustrated other children’s books, including The Very Ugly Bug and My Big Brother, Boris. Her work is published by Scholastic in the UK.
