Kallie George is a Canadian author known for her work in children’s literature. She holds a Master of Children’s Literature from the University of British Columbia. George has written several picture books and chapter books, including the Magical Animal Adoption Agency series, the Heartwood Hotel series, and the Wings of Olympus series. Her picture books include The Melancholic Mermaid, Duck, Duck, Dinosaur, and Goodnight, Anne, inspired by Anne of Green Gables.
Her books have been published by HarperCollins, Disney-Hyperion, and Tundra Books. The Heartwood Hotel series was illustrated by Stephanie Graegin, and the Magical Animal Adoption Agency series was illustrated by Alexandra Boiger. George’s works have been translated into multiple languages.
She has received recognition for her writing, including nominations for the Chocolate Lily Book Award and the Forest of Reading Award. In 2018, Heartwood Hotel: A True Home was selected as a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
