Julie Abery biography

Julie Abery is a children’s author and former Pre-K teacher from England. She writes picture books, biographies in verse and board books for young readers. Her picture books include Yusra Swims, published in 2020, and The Old Man and the Penguin: A True Story of True Friendship, published on 6 October 2020. Sakamoto’s Swim Club: How a Teacher Led an Unlikely Team to Victory followed in May 2021.

Abery also writes rhyming board-book series about young animals and dinosaurs. Her Little Animal Friends books include Little Hippo, published on 25 February 2020, Little Otter, published on 14 March 2023, and Little Walrus, also published on 14 March 2023. In the Baby Dinosaurs series, Baby Stegosaurus was published on 8 August 2023, and Baby Diplodocus and Baby Triceratops were published on 13 August 2024.
