Joseph Coelho, a renowned British poet and playwright, was born in London in 1977. He grew up in Roehampton, a suburb in southwest London, where he developed a passion for storytelling and poetry from a young age. Coelho’s multicultural background, with his mother being Irish and his father being Portuguese, greatly influenced his writing style and themes.
Coelho pursued his education at the University of Roehampton, where he studied English and Drama. During his time at university, he actively participated in various theatre productions and poetry slams, honing his skills as a performer and writer.
After completing his studies, Coelho embarked on a successful career as a poet and playwright. He has written numerous poetry collections and children’s books, captivating readers of all ages with his imaginative storytelling and lyrical language.
One of Coelho’s notable works is his poetry collection titled “Werewolf Club Rules,” which was published in 2014. This collection explores themes of identity, belonging, and the power of imagination. Coelho’s ability to connect with his readers through relatable and thought-provoking poetry has earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base.
In addition to his poetry, Coelho has also written several children’s books, including “Luna Loves Library Day” and “If All the World Were.” These books tackle important topics such as grief, friendship, and the joy of reading, providing young readers with valuable life lessons in an engaging and accessible way.
