Jamison Shea biography

Jamison Shea uses they/them pronouns and writes dark fantasy and horror novels for young adult readers. They are an Ignyte Award-winning author. Their books with Macmillan include I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast Is Me, I Am the Dark That Answers When You Call and Roar of the Lambs.

I Feed Her to the Beast and the Beast Is Me was Shea’s debut novel. It was published for readers aged 14–18, with an on-sale date of 29 August 2023. The novel is young adult horror about Laure Mesny, a Black ballet student in Paris who seeks power in the Catacombs after being overlooked in an elite ballet world.

I Am the Dark That Answers When You Call is the second volume in the I Feed Her to the Beast series. Henry Holt and Co. (BYR) published it as a young adult title for readers aged 14–18, with an on-sale date of 12 November 2024. The story continues Laure’s Paris-set horror narrative after the Palais Garnier incident.

Roar of the Lambs is another young adult work by Shea. It is a speculative thriller from Henry Holt & Company about Winona Bray, a fortune teller connected to the Red Hourglass and to the people of Buffalo.
