George Behe is an American author and historian whose work focuses on RMS Titanic and the people connected with the disaster. He is a former vice president of the Titanic Historical Society and has written numerous articles for the society’s journal, The Titanic Commutator. He has also worked as a consultant and interviewee for books and television documentaries about the ship.

Behe’s books include Titanic: Psychic Forewarnings of a Tragedy, Titanic: Safety, Speed and Sacrifice and A Death on the Titanic: The Loss of Major Archibald Butt. His research has included extensive use of contemporary correspondence, eyewitness accounts and material connected with passengers and crew.

On Board RMS Titanic: Memories of the Maiden Voyage brings together letters, postcards, diary entries and memoirs written before, during and immediately after the voyage. The collection also includes biographical information about the passengers and crew represented in these documents. The History Press published an edition of the book in 2012 and a later edition in 2017.

Behe followed this with Voices from the Carpathia: Rescuing RMS Titanic, published by The History Press in 2015. It collects accounts from passengers aboard RMS Carpathia, the ship that rescued survivors after the sinking.

His later book The Triumvirate: Captain Edward J. Smith, Bruce Ismay, Thomas Andrews and the Sinking of Titanic examines the actions and reputations of three figures closely associated with the disaster. It was published by The History Press in 2024.
