Christopher Edge is a British children’s author whose work blends scientific ideas with imaginative storytelling. Born in Manchester, he spent much of his childhood in local libraries, nurturing a passion for reading and writing.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Edge worked as an English teacher and in educational publishing. He has also served as a freelance education consultant, contributing to initiatives aimed at encouraging children to read.
Edge’s novels often explore complex scientific concepts through accessible narratives. His notable works include The Many Worlds of Albie Bright, The Jamie Drake Equation, The Infinite Lives of Maisie Day, and The Longest Night of Charlie Noon. These titles have been recognised with nominations for the CILIP Carnegie Medal and have won awards such as the STEAM Children’s Book Prize and the Brilliant Book Award.
In 2022, he published Escape Room, a novel that combines adventure with puzzle-solving elements. This was followed by Black Hole Cinema Club in 2024, which draws inspiration from classic cinema and science fiction themes.
Edge’s books have been translated into more than twenty languages, reflecting their international appeal.
He currently resides in Gloucestershire, where he continues to write and engage with readers through school visits and literary events.
