Ann K. Simpson is an American author whose fiction includes young adult historical fantasy and romance. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and her fiction has appeared in Say Good Night to Illiteracy, Transformation and the Texas Bar Journal. She has also written non-fiction for magazines and newspapers.
Her debut novel, The Titanic Test: A Love Story, was published by Framing Hill Media in November 2024. The novel combines time travel with the history of RMS Titanic and follows Charlie, a seventeen-year-old student whose school sends her into the past aboard the liner as part of a test. Knowing what will happen to the ship, she must decide how far she is prepared to interfere with history.
The story incorporates historical passengers and crew alongside its fictional characters and draws on details of Titanic’s interiors, fashions, food and final voyage. The book’s cover and interior illustrations were created by Jennifer Bruce.
The Titanic Test: A Love Story was published in hardback and paperback on 11 November 2024 and is Simpson’s first novel.
