Aaron Becker Biography

Growing up during the Apollo missions era, the dream of becoming an astronaut captivated many American boys, including the individual in question. Raised in Baltimore, where his mother taught astronomy, he joined her on night-time observatory field trips, experiencing the magic of the starry sky. Initially set on a path toward a career in space exploration, he later shifted his focus to drawing pictures of the cosmos, a creative outlet that allowed him to construct imaginative worlds.

Years later, after a career in design, he attended a children’s book conference in Monterey, reigniting his passion for storytelling through illustrations. With newfound artistic skills and a deeper understanding of the power of children’s books, he embarked on a journey as an author and illustrator, leading him back to an editor he had met in Monterey nearly fifteen years earlier. Today, residing in Amherst, Massachusetts, he continues to explore the cosmos of his imagination, content in the knowledge that this path is a more accessible and fulfilling adventure than astronaut boot camp.
