Simon Lelic writes crime and thriller novels for adults and a thriller series for younger readers. His adult novels include Rupture, The Facility, The Child Who, The House, The Liar’s Room, The Search Party and The Hiding Place. Rupture won a Betty Trask Award and was shortlisted for the John Creasey Debut Dagger. The Child Who was longlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger and the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger in 2012.
The House was published by Penguin on 17 August 2017. The House was described as his first psychological thriller, and it was inspired by his interest in Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King. The Search Party, The Liar’s Room and The House are among his adult thrillers published by Penguin.
For younger readers, Lelic wrote The Haven series. The Haven was published by Hachette in 2019 and is a thriller for readers aged 12 to 16. The series is about a secret organisation run by children for children, and the first book, The Haven, was shortlisted for the CrimeFest Awards.
The Haven: Deadfall is the third book in The Haven series and went on sale on 6 February 2020. It was published as a paperback for teenage readers by Hachette and continues the series with Ollie and the Haven investigations team.
