Rowan Foxwood is a lecturer in creative writing and holds a Masters in Writing for Children. Her writing is rooted in mythology, fairy tales and folklore, influences shaped by extensive travel in childhood.
Her debut middle-grade novel, Heartseer: The Tale of Anise Star (Usborne), follows Anise, a heart-seer who can perceive deities and daemons, in a quest with themes of friendship and care for the natural world. A German edition, Anis: Hüterin des Weißwaldes, has also been published.
Foxwood writes for Key Stage 2–3 readers and appears on Usborne’s approved school author events list for the 2024–25 academic year. Heartseer: The Tale of Anise Star is her first book for children.
