Ros Moriarty is an Australian author known for her work in children’s literature as well as her contributions to non-fiction. She is the founder and managing director of the creative agency Balarinji, which is recognised for its work with Aboriginal design and storytelling. Moriarty has written several children’s books that draw on Indigenous Australian themes and stories, often in collaboration with the Borroloola community in the Northern Territory.
Her children’s titles include What’s That There?, Who Saw Turtle?, Who Saw?, and Summer Rain. These books are published by Allen & Unwin and are noted for their focus on language and culture, often featuring text in both English and Indigenous languages. Moriarty’s work aims to introduce young readers to the richness of Aboriginal culture and the natural environment of Australia.
In addition to her children’s books, Moriarty has written a memoir, Listening to Country, which explores her experiences with her husband’s Indigenous family and community. This book was published by Allen & Unwin in 2010.
