Oliver Jeffers, a renowned artist and author, was born on November 11, 1977, in Port Hedland, Australia. However, he grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Jeffers showed a keen interest in art from a young age and pursued his passion by attending the University of Ulster, where he studied Visual Communication.
After completing his education, Jeffers embarked on his artistic journey, exploring various mediums and techniques. He gained recognition for his unique style, characterized by vibrant colours, whimsical illustrations, and a touch of surrealism. His artwork often incorporates mixed media elements, including collages and found objects.
In addition to his visual art, Jeffers ventured into the world of writing and illustrating children’s books. His debut book, “How to Catch a Star,” was published in 2004 and received critical acclaim. Since then, he has authored and illustrated numerous beloved children’s books, including “Lost and Found,” “The Incredible Book Eating Boy,” and “Stuck.”
Jeffers’ work has had a significant impact on the world of children’s literature and art. His books have been translated into over 40 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide.
