Nicholas Allan is a British author and illustrator known for his work in children’s literature. He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and later attended the University of East Anglia, where he completed an MA in Creative Writing. Allan has written and illustrated numerous picture books, often combining humour with themes relevant to young children.
Among his best-known works is The Queen’s Knickers, published by Andersen Press. This book has become a recognised title in UK children’s literature. Allan has also written Father Christmas Needs a Wee and Pants, both of which have been published by Random House Children’s Publishers UK. His books are noted for their playful approach and distinctive illustrations.
In addition to his work as an author and illustrator, Allan has contributed to the field by running workshops and events for children. His books have been published by several major UK publishers, including Andersen Press and Random House Children’s Publishers UK.
In 1993, Nicholas Allan won the Sheffield Children’s Book Award for The Queen’s Knickers.
