Melissa Welliver is a British author known for her work in young adult fiction. She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at university, and later completed a Master’s degree in Creative Writing. Welliver’s writing often explores dystopian and speculative themes, drawing on her interest in science fiction and the environment.
Her debut novel, The Undying Tower, was published by Agora Books in 2021. The story is set in a future society where people are divided by their ability to die, and follows the protagonist, Eva, as she navigates a world shaped by this division. The novel is the first in a trilogy, with the sequel, The Undying City, released in 2022.
Welliver’s books have been noted for their exploration of identity, mortality, and societal structures. She has participated in events and interviews discussing her writing process and the inspirations behind her work, including her interest in classic dystopian literature and contemporary issues.
In 2022, The Undying City was published by Agora Books, marking the continuation of her trilogy.
