Matthieu Dugal is a Québec journalist, broadcaster and author whose work explores technology and society for general and young audiences. He has presented radio and television programmes on Radio-Canada, including the weekly technology show La Sphère from 2011 to 2018 and, from 2018, the science-and-tech magazine Moteur de recherche.
Dugal is the author of the children’s non-fiction title Welcome to AI: What is Artificial Intelligence and how will it change our lives?, illustrated by Owen Davey. Written for curious readers, it charts the history of artificial intelligence, explains core ideas in accessible language and invites discussion about how AI might be used in everyday life. He has also written on the subject in French in IA: Comment les machines pourraient nous remplacer.
Alongside his publishing, Dugal created the documentary “AI: To be or not to be,” extending his public-facing work on digital culture and emerging technologies.
