Karen M. McManus writes young adult thrillers. Her One of Us Is Lying series comprises One of Us Is Lying, One of Us Is Next and One of Us Is Back. One of Us Is Lying was published by Delacorte Press in hardcover and ebook on 30 May 2017, with a later paperback edition published on 28 February 2023.

One of Us Is Lying is a school-set mystery about five students who enter detention at Bayview High and four who leave alive. The book is aimed at readers aged 14 and up, Grade 9 and up, and has a Lexile level of HL730L.

Her standalone young adult novels include Two Can Keep a Secret, The Cousins, You’ll Be the Death of Me, Nothing More to Tell and Such Charming Liars. Such Charming Liars was published by Delacorte Press in hardcover, ebook and audiobook on 30 July 2024, with a paperback edition published on 29 July 2025.

One of Us Is Back is the third book in the One of Us Is Lying series. It was published by Delacorte Press in hardcover, ebook and audiobook on 25 July 2023, and a paperback edition followed on 5 November 2024.

One of Us Is Lying won the Maryland Black-Eyed Susan Award in 2019, the New Jersey Garden State Teen Book Award in 2019 and the Westchester Fiction Award in 2018.
