Jeremy Strong biography

Jeremy Strong is a British author known for his humorous books for children. He began his career as a teacher before becoming a full-time writer. Strong’s first book, Smith’s Tail, was published in 1978 by A & C Black. He has since written over 100 books for children, including the popular My Brother’s Famous Bottom series and the Cartoon Kid series.

Strong’s works are published by Puffin Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. His book The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog won the Children’s Book Award in 1997. Other notable titles include There’s a Viking in My Bed, Romans on the Rampage, and My Dad’s Got an Alligator!

He has received several accolades, including the Red House Children’s Book Award and the Sheffield Children’s Book Award. In addition to his fiction, Strong has written plays and stories for educational publishers. His books have been translated into multiple languages and are widely used in schools across the UK.

Jeremy Strong’s The Hundred-Mile-an-Hour Dog was adapted for television by the BBC in 2006.
