Jayde Perkin biography

Jayde Perkin is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s and young adult literature. She studied illustration at Falmouth University. Perkin’s work often explores themes of grief, family, and personal experience, drawing on her background in both illustration and comics.

Her debut graphic novel, Impossible Things Before Breakfast, was published in 2017. She is also the creator of I’m Not Ready, a graphic memoir for young adults that addresses the subject of bereavement. This book was published by Book Island in 2019.

Perkin’s illustrations and comics have appeared in various publications and anthologies. She has contributed to projects for clients including The Guardian, The New York Times, and The Observer. Her work has been recognised within the comics and illustration community, and she has participated in exhibitions and festivals related to graphic storytelling.

In 2019, Jayde Perkin won the ELCAF x WeTransfer Award for her graphic novel I’m Not Ready.
