Jane Clarke biography

Jane Clarke is a British children’s author known for her picture books and early readers. She has written over 80 books for young readers, collaborating with a range of illustrators. Clarke’s work includes the Gilbert the Great series, illustrated by Charles Fuge, and the Dr. KittyCat series, illustrated by Lydia Monks. Her stories often feature animals and humour, appealing to children in early years and primary settings.

Clarke’s books have been published by several major publishers, including Nosy Crow, Walker Books, and Oxford University Press. She has contributed to educational reading schemes as well as trade titles. Among her notable works are Stuck in the Mud, illustrated by Garry Parsons, and Neon Leon, illustrated by Britta Teckentrup.
