Isaac Fitzsimons biography

Isaac Fitzsimons writes for young readers. He is the author of the young adult novel The Passing Playbook, published by Dial Books on 1 June 2021. The novel follows Spencer Harris, a Black transgender teenager who joins the boys’ football team at a new school and is then forced to challenge a discriminatory rule. The Passing Playbook was a finalist for the 2022 Lambda Literary Award.

Fitzsimons has also contributed short fiction to anthologies for teen readers. He was one of the contributors to Game On, published on 18 January 2022, a collection of fifteen stories about games and competition. He also contributed to Cool. Awkward. Black., published on 10 January 2023, an anthology of stories about Black teenagers with a wide range of interests and identities.
