I.V. Marie biography

I.V. Marie is an American author of young adult fantasy. Born in Miami to a Peruvian mother and Chilean father, she began writing short, spooky and fantastical stories in childhood and later developed her debut novel while working in publishing-adjacent creative roles. Public author materials describe a long-standing interest in dark academia settings and ensemble casts.

Her first novel, Immortal Consequences, launches the series The Souls of Blackwood Academy. It was published by Delacorte Press on 29 July 2025 and selected as the Good Morning America YA Book Club pick for August 2025. The story follows six students competing in the Decennial at Blackwood Academy, a school set on the fringes of the afterlife, and combines supernatural mystery with romantic and rivalry-driven plotlines.

Retail and catalogue listings record a 512-page hardcover edition, with subsequent foreign-language rights promoted by the publisher.
