George Butler is a British artist and illustrator. He studied illustration at Kingston University and the Royal Drawing School in London.
He is best known for his reportage drawings from conflict zones and areas affected by humanitarian crises, including Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. His work has been published in outlets such as The Guardian, The Times and the BBC, and exhibited internationally.
Butler illustrated the children’s book Drawing for Peace (2023), which introduces young readers to the role of art in understanding global issues. He is also the founder of the Hands Up Foundation, a charity supporting communities in Syria.
Drawing for Peace was published in 2023.
