Ben Tomlinson biography

Ben Tomlinson is a young adult author published by Andersen Press. He studied at Sussex University and completed the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia.

Before publishing his first novel, Tomlinson worked as a theatre facilitator, leading workshops and directing youth theatre with young people of different ages.

His debut novel, Loverboy, was published by Andersen Press on 2 January 2025. The novel follows Alfie, a teenager trying to understand first love, friendship and confidence after a failed attempt to tell Maya how he feels.

Loverboy was shortlisted for the Warwickshire Teen Book Awards 2025 and the 2026 WMAT Book Awards.

Tomlinson’s second YA novel, The Party, is listed by Andersen Press for publication on 2 July 2026.
