Annie Kubler biography

Annie Kubler is a French-born children’s author and illustrator, recognised for adapting classic nursery rhymes into board‑book formats. She earned a National Diploma in Visual Communication from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg and moved to England in 1985.

Her best-known title is Wee Willie Winkie, first published in March 2008 by Child’s Play International as part of a series of board books based on well-known rhymes. The book runs to ten pages and introduces the rhyme in an interactive format for babies and toddlers.

In addition to Wee Willie Winkie, Kubler has authored similar nursery‑rhyme adaptations, including This Little Piggy, Hey Diddle Diddle! and I’m a Little Teapot, all designed to introduce young children to classic verse in a tactile, visual way.

Her illustrations are noted for their bright, engaging style and suitability for early years audiences, and her board books have appeared in collections marketed internationally.

The most recent milestone in her career is the publication of the board‑book edition of Wee Willie Winkie in March 2008.
