Adeline Yen Mah is a Chinese-American author known for her work in children’s and young adult literature. She was born in Tianjin, China, and later moved to the United States. Mah is best known for her autobiographical work, Falling Leaves, which details her experiences growing up in a dysfunctional family in China. This book was published in 1997 and became an international bestseller.
In addition to Falling Leaves, Mah has written several books for younger audiences. Her novel Chinese Cinderella, published in 1999, is a version of her autobiography adapted for children. It has been widely used in educational settings to teach about Chinese culture and history. The book has received critical acclaim and has been translated into multiple languages.
Mah’s other works include Chinese Cinderella and the Secret Dragon Society, published in 2003, which is a fictional story set during World War II. She also wrote Along the River: A Chinese Cinderella Novel, released in 2009, which continues the story of her childhood experiences.
