Our review:
Long-term friends Cam, Jonesy, and Amber are joined by the new girl in town, Buffy, to investigate the gruesome murders of the ‘it’ couple at their high school in small-town California. Instead of worrying about university applications, they are suddenly obsessing over an ancient town legend.
On what seems like an ordinary, typically dull day in high school, tragedy strikes in a town where nothing ever happens. An athlete and a cheerleader are found burned and stabbed in a locally famous haunted house. Unwilling to leave the investigation to the useless local police force, the gang is eager to solve this mystery. Cue ghouls, horror movies, and teen investigators.
The group is torn between trying to stay alive and keeping their usually sleepy town safe, all while balancing super strict parents and a budding friends-to-lovers relationship.
Let’s Split Up is a fast-paced, twisty read that blends a high school LGBTQ romance with a classic ‘whodunit’, reminiscent of Scooby-Doo and his gang. There are surprising developments, mysterious new arrivals, and an adorable puppy. Let’s Split Up will appeal to fans of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Netflix’s Sabrina.
