Yasmine Naghdi biography

Yasmine Naghdi is a British ballerina and Principal dancer with The Royal Ballet. She was born in London in 1992.

She trained at The Royal Ballet School and while still a student appeared with The Royal Ballet in productions including Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and La Valse. She joined the company in 2010.

Naghdi was promoted to First Artist in 2012, Soloist in 2014, First Soloist in 2016 and Principal in 2017.

Her repertory includes leading roles such as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Giselle in Giselle, Kitri in Don Quixote, Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Tatiana in Onegin, Alice in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and roles in works by choreographers including Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan, George Balanchine and Wayne McGregor.

She has danced internationally as a guest artist and appears frequently in galas. In 2018 she was nominated for Best Female Dancer at the National Dance Awards.
