Wolfgang Grulke is an author, collector, and speaker whose work connects natural history, science, and aesthetics in children’s non-fiction and popular science.
He was formerly an executive at IBM and serves as Chair Emeritus of FutureWorld International, an organisation focused on foresight and innovation.
Grulke has written a trilogy of books on ocean life and deep time: Heteromorph: The Rarest Fossil Ammonites, Nautilus: Beautiful Survivor — 500 Million Years of Evolutionary History, and Beyond Extinction: The Eternal Ocean — Climate Change the Continuity of Life. In 2020, this trilogy won the Independent Publisher Book Award for Best Non-Fiction Book Series, and Beyond Extinction won in the Environment/Ecology category.
He also authored Adorned by Nature: Adornment, Exchange Myth in the South Seas and She Sold Seashells: The Curious Mary Anning, Re-imagined (2023), a children’s adaptation of Mary Anning’s story.
