Tony Mitton is a British poet and author known for his work in children’s literature. He has written numerous picture books and poetry collections, often collaborating with illustrators such as Ant Parker and Guy Parker-Rees. Mitton’s writing is recognised for its rhythmic and engaging style, appealing to young readers and supporting early literacy.
Among his notable works are the Crazy series, including Crazy Camelot Capers and Crazy Classrooms, as well as the Amazing Machines series, illustrated by Ant Parker. He has also published poetry collections such as Plum and The Red and White Spotted Handkerchief. Mitton’s books are published by various UK publishers, including Macmillan Children’s Books and Orchard Books.
In 2014, Tony Mitton received the CLPE Poetry Award for his collection Wayland.
