S. A. Gales biography

S. A. Gales is a young adult science fiction and fantasy author. She previously worked as an architect and completed a doctorate in creative writing.

Her debut YA novel, iNSiDE, is a dystopian science fiction story published by Faber & Faber. The book follows Naya, a teenager raised in an indoor city of disappearing doors, shifting windows and changing rooms. Naya wants to join the city’s governing body and police force, the NSDE, and accepts a secret assignment to spy on the Spiravits, an outside group she has been taught to fear.

iNSiDE was published in paperback on 14 August 2025. The edition carries the ISBN 9780571385829 and has cover art by Micaela Alcaino.
