Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Ruby Clyde is a writer whose young adult novel Jay’s Guide to Crushing It was published on 3 August 2023. The book follows Jay, also called Jennifer, after a move to a new town, where skateboarding, bullying, friendship and questions about identity shape the story. It is described as a romantic comedy and is categorised as young adult, contemporary, queer and coming-of-age fiction. Ruby Clyde is also known for comedy writing and for performing as one half of the comedy duo Shelf.
