Polly Faber is a British children’s author known for her picture books and middle-grade fiction. She has written titles including Mango & Bambang, a series illustrated by Clara Vulliamy and published by Walker Books. The first book in the series, Mango & Bambang: The Not-a-Pig, was published in 2015, followed by further titles such as Mango & Bambang: Tapir All at Sea, Mango & Bambang: Tiny Tapir Trouble, and Mango & Bambang: Superstar Tapir.
Faber’s standalone works include Through the North Pole Snow, illustrated by Richard Jones and published by Walker Books in 2022, and All Through the Night: People Who Work While We Sleep, illustrated by Harriet Hobday and published by Nosy Crow in 2018. She is also the author of Picking Pickle, illustrated by Clara Vulliamy, and The Book Cat, illustrated by Clara Vulliamy and published by Faber & Faber in 2021.
In 2022, Faber published Hazel Hill, Thinks She’s a Hero, illustrated by Melissa Chaib, with Walker Books. Her book Jack and the Jungle, illustrated by Klas Fahlén, was published by Barrington Stoke in 2021.
Polly Faber’s books have been shortlisted for several awards. Mango & Bambang: The Not-a-Pig was shortlisted for the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award in 2016. All Through the Night was shortlisted for the UKLA Book Award in 2020.
Her most recent publication is The Book Cat, released in 2021.
