Pippa Goodhart biography

Pippa Goodhart is a British author known for her work in children’s literature. She has written over a hundred books, including picture books, early readers, and novels for young readers. Goodhart is the author of the picture book You Choose, illustrated by Nick Sharratt, first published by Doubleday in 2003. The book has been widely used in schools and has sold over a million copies. She has also written titles such as Fair Shares, Just Imagine, and A Bottle of Happiness.

Goodhart began her career working in bookselling before becoming a full-time writer. Her books have been published by major publishers including Penguin Random House, Egmont, and Barrington Stoke. She has collaborated with illustrators such as Nick Sharratt, Anna Doherty, and Ema Maliauka.

Goodhart’s novel Raven Boy was shortlisted for the Smarties Prize. You Choose was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award and the Kate Greenaway Medal. She has also received the Young Quills Award for Historical Fiction for her book A Dog Called Flow.

Pippa Goodhart served as a judge for the Branford Boase Award in 2001. Her book You Choose celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023.
