Pete Johnson is a British author known for his work in children’s and young adult fiction. He began his career as a film critic and teacher before turning to writing full-time. Johnson has written over fifty books for children and teenagers, covering a range of genres including comedy, horror, and real-life issues.
His first published book was Secrets from the School Underground, released in 1991. Johnson is particularly recognised for his humorous novels, such as How to Train Your Parents, which has been widely used in schools. He has also written books that address topics such as bullying and friendship, including The Ghost Dog and Traitor.
Johnson’s books have been published by several major publishers, including Puffin and Usborne. He has received recognition for his work, with Traitor winning the Young Telegraph Book of the Year Award. His novel The Ghost Dog was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award.
In 2013, Pete Johnson published How to Update Your Parents, continuing his popular series about family life and growing up.
