Mark Bergin is a British illustrator and author specialising in instructional and historical visual work. According to his personal site, he has contributed to books, posters and adverts, and in 1991 won the Times Educational Supplement senior book award for his illustration in An Egyptian Pyramid.
Bergin was born in Hastings, England, in 1961, and studied at Eastbourne College of Art. He describes his specialisms as figurative work, cutaways, historical reconstructions, automotive, aviation, space and maritime subjects.
He is author/illustrator of over sixty titles in series such as “How to Draw” and “It’s Fun to Draw”, working in a variety of media including watercolour, acrylic, ink, airbrush and digital. He also designs layouts, storyboards and book designs.
Among his published titles are How to Draw Planes, How to Draw the Human Figure, It’s Fun to Draw Farm Animals and It’s Fun to Draw Safari Animals. His work appears via publishers including Kingfisher, DK, Hamlyn, Oxford University Press and Heinemann.
He maintains a professional illustration portfolio through which he offers workshops and commissions. Selected achievement: Times Educational Supplement senior book award, 1991.
