Marjoke Henrichs biography

Marjoke Henrichs is a children’s author-illustrator, artist and theatre designer. She was born in the Netherlands and has worked in the UK as an artist and theatre designer for many years. In 1995, she took part in the UK theatre design entry at the Prague Quadrennial, which won the Gold Medal.

Henrichs completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in February 2019 with a distinction. Her debut picture book, No! said Rabbit, was published by Scallywag Press in 2021 for children aged 2 to 4; she wrote and illustrated the book.

No! said Rabbit follows Rabbit through a day of refusals, including getting dressed, breakfast, outside play, bath time and a final cuddle.

Her Rabbit picture-book work continued with Ready! Said Rabbit, published in February 2022. Penguin Random House identifies No! Said Rabbit and Ready! Said Rabbit as books by Henrichs published by Candlewick.
