Marissa Meyer is an American author best known for her work in young adult fiction. She is the creator of The Lunar Chronicles, a series of novels that reimagine classic fairy tales in a futuristic setting. The series includes Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter, as well as the companion books Fairest and Stars Above. Meyer has also written the standalone novel Heartless, which explores the origins of the Queen of Hearts from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
In addition to her fairy tale retellings, Meyer is the author of the Renegades trilogy, a superhero-themed series comprising Renegades, Archenemies, and Supernova. Her work is published by Feiwel & Friends, an imprint of Macmillan.
Marissa Meyer’s debut novel, Cinder, was published in 2012.
