Luke Pearson biography

Luke Pearson is a British cartoonist, illustrator, and writer, best known for creating the Hilda series of graphic novels. The first book, Hildafolk, was published by Nobrow Press in 2010. Subsequent titles in the series include Hilda and the Midnight Giant (2011), Hilda and the Bird Parade (2012), Hilda and the Black Hound (2014), Hilda and the Stone Forest (2016), and Hilda and the Mountain King (2019).

The Hilda books have received critical acclaim and several awards. Hilda and the Midnight Giant was nominated for the 2012 Eisner Award for Best Publication for Kids. Hilda and the Bird Parade was nominated for the 2013 Eisner Award in the same category. The series has also been shortlisted for the British Comic Awards.

Pearson has contributed illustrations to publications such as The New York Times and The Guardian. He has also worked as a storyboard artist for the television series Adventure Time. In 2018, the Hilda series was adapted into an animated television show by Silvergate Media and Mercury Filmworks, with Pearson serving as creator and executive producer. The show premiered on Netflix in September 2018.

In 2019, Hilda and the Mountain King was published, continuing the story of the titular character.
