Louise Greig biography

Louise Greig is a Scottish author and poet known for her picture books for children. She has a background in poetry and has received recognition for her writing, including winning the Manchester Writing for Children Prize. Greig’s work often explores themes of nature, emotion, and imagination, and she is noted for her lyrical style.

Her debut picture book, The Night Box, was published by Egmont in 2017. The book was illustrated by Ashling Lindsay and has been followed by several other titles, including Sweep (Egmont, 2018), illustrated by Júlia Sardà, and The Night Pig (Egmont, 2019), illustrated by Lizzy Stewart. Greig has also written Red and the City (Egmont, 2018), illustrated by Ashling Lindsay, and Shhh! Quiet! (Egmont, 2020), illustrated by Carmen Saldaña.

In addition to her picture books, Greig’s poetry has been published in various anthologies. She has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and the Klaus Flugge Prize. Her book The Night Box was longlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2018.
